Effective Communication with Multigenerational Employees

The different generations in the workplace – Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials and Gen Zs – have different values and expectations that translate into distinct identities. Based on these identities the four cohorts demonstrate different behaviors in the workplace as they relate to how each group likes to work, be managed, and interact with managers, colleagues and peers. Managers that understand the generational identities can adjust their communication practices in order to motivate and engage all four generations of employees.

This workshop provides managers and leaders with a Six Step Communication Plan that they can easily implement in order to be more proactive, clear, and consistent in their communication. Participants learn how to tailor their communication messages to the four generations by using the most effective key messages, medium and follow-up techniques.
